Skills

A skill is a named, reusable instruction set that the Simba agent loads and follows when a task matches it.

A skill is content, prefixed SKL_. It pairs a short description that says when the skill applies with an instructions body that says what to do. Skills are scoped to a single Space, and the agent only sees the skills in the Space of the current chat. A skill can be invoked two ways. The agent calls it through its skill tool when a task matches the description, and a user invokes it directly by typing /name in chat. Two booleans gate those paths independently, and either invocation can pass arguments that substitute into the instructions.

Inputs

FieldTypeRequiredDescription
namestringRequiredThe skill name, and the slash-command a user types to invoke it. Lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens only (^[a-z0-9]+(?:-[a-z0-9]+)*$). Unique within the Space.
descriptionstringRequiredOne-line summary of when to use the skill. Both users and the agent read it to decide whether to invoke. Must not be empty to commit. The agent's skill catalog shows it whitespace-collapsed and truncated to 250 characters.
instructionsstringRequiredThe instruction set the agent loads when the skill is invoked. Markdown. Must not be empty to commit. $ARGUMENTS expands to the full argument text and $1, $2, and higher expand to positional arguments.
disableModelInvocationbooleanRequiredWhen false, the agent may call the skill through its skill tool. When true, the skill drops out of the agent's catalog and only a user can invoke it. Default false. In the web app this is the inverse of the "Simba invocable" toggle.
userInvocablebooleanRequiredWhether a user can invoke the skill directly by typing /name in chat. Default true.
argumentHintstringOptionalFree-text hint describing the arguments the skill expects. Null for none.

Outputs
